Physics Post 2

For my second physics post I will be explaining the picture of my paintball gun. This relates to what we are learning in science because speed of your paintball is measured every time you play. In order to keep people safe, the referees at various paintball fields on the island require that you shoot your paintball gun through a chronometer to measure how fast your paintball is going. Although paintball is measured in feet per second, you could convert that to meters per second through dimensional analysis. Paintball can also relate to vectors and displacement if you were to follow the path of your paintball as you shot it in a certain direction.

  1. NIce gun you got there Philip! XD. Joking aside, I think its interesting how you related a modern day game/hobby to physics. I also never knew you could track how fast your shots were going, nor would have thought of calculating its velocity. Very cool :D

  2. This is very interesting Philip! I thought it was a great idea to use an activity you enjoy and use it to display the aspects of kinematics. I didn't realize how complex paintball can be, like being able to measure speed. Cool overall all relationship between paintball and kinematics.

  3. Nice relation/conversion Philip! I've never played/done paintball before. It must be fun!
